Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics NMU named after OO Bogomolets works at 4 clinical bases, where educational and methodical, scientific and medical-consultative work is performed. Every year students of medical faculties of NMU named after OO Bogomolets, masters, clinical residents, graduate students study at the department.

The course is taught in Ukrainian, Russian and English. Appropriate manuals for practical classes in Russian and English have been published for Russian-speaking and English-speaking students, and a multimedia electronic course of lectures has been developed.

Since 2007, according to the order of the Rector of NMU named after OO Bogomolets created an informational website that reflects all activities of the department (www.kaftravm.com.ua).

There is a computer class where students, clinical residents, graduate students of the department process electronic sources of information, are tested in certain sections of traumatology and orthopedics. It also controls the basic level of knowledge before the final modular control of students and certification of clinical residents and graduate students. For this purpose, the staff of the department has developed appropriate test bases.

Since 1999, the department has been constantly publishing a scientific professional journal "Chronicle of Traumatology and Orthopedics", accredited by the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine. Textbooks, manuals, practical recommendations and monographs are constantly published.
